I am Steffen Rolla, an independent artist and entrepreneur.
My artistic practice begins with materials, everyday objects, situations and questions. What appears familiar can become the starting point for an investigation into what we see, what we know and what we take for granted.I am particularly interested in what happens before we reach a conclusion, while we make decisions and after we begin to interpret their consequences.
WHAT DIRECTS? brings these investigations into a public conversation.Not everything needs to change. Not every question needs an immediate answer. And not every decision marks the end of an investigation.
